Phone Arena came across the performance results of a mysterious Nokia device on the GFXBench. Given the specs of the gadget, the teach world is abuzz with speculation that the device is in fact the elusive Nokia tablet that has been rumoured for a while now.
According to its benchmark results, Nokia's latest offering is quite a powerhouse of features. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 chipset and its Adreno 330 GPU. It is powered by Windows, as opposed to Windows Phone, suggesting that it is in fact a slate and not a handset. Though it might have a lot of power and speed on offer, Nokia's newbie might not be in the league of the fanciest slates in the market though.
The display resolution of Nokia's device is listed at 1371 x 771 pixels, which is lower than what most premium slates currently offer. This resolution is close to that of the Microsoft Surface tablet which stands at 1368 x 768 pixels.
In an ever evolving world of tablets, the more competition there is, the better. If Nokia and Microsoft succeed in sprucing up their acts and offer users a powerful, functional tablet that can be used for both work and play, they will actually be able to get bigwigs like Android and Apple sit up and take notice of some serious competition. We will be waiting and watching for Nokia to come out with its next big offering. Stay tuned
