Senior Network Engineer - Routing, Switching, VoIP, CCNA, CCNP

This is an exciting new role that has been created and approved by the CIO to recruit an experienced Network Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career with a world class company that values its employees and encourages entrepreneurial spirit.
As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, your role will be to work with the various functional areas on gathering requirements, analyzing, evaluating, designing, installing, implementing and supporting network (LAN, MAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and VoIP) technologies that will enable the organisation to work effectively and productively.
You will be the main contact for the UK Network and will liaise with the European team which are spread across, Germany and Spain. The network has been installed 10 years ago and does not support the deployment of new technologies effectively therefore the decision has been made to refresh the entire network architecture and infrastructure across three sites in the UK and this is a key objective of the team in 2013. The first project you will be involved in will be the deployment of a new Cisco network architecture for the site in Humberside followed by the renewal of the VoIP infrastructure in Q2-Q3 2013.
Your role will be to take ownership of all issues related to the Infrastructure and Voice network across the UK. You will also be charged with ensuring 3rd party suppliers such as CapGemini and At&T are delivering to the agreed level of service and will be primary contact for any level 3 support issues that may arise.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Research, design, plan, testing, implementation and documentation of all aspects of the global network environment.
• Monitor, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, support and repair of the global LAN/WAN/IPT environment to include perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Responsible for the escalation of all faults or performance issues.
• Organize monthly/weekly network incident reporting and metrics for submission to senior management.
• Supervise the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software and communication links.
• Define and follow standards and best practices for network design, testing, and implementation.
• Liaise and coordinate with international counterparts for project implementations. Manage engineering projects for LAN/WAN/VoIP initiatives, plan technology roadmaps, configuration and optimization of all aspects of network, telephone systems, related network equipment and services.
• Technical assistance and support for both internal and external inquiries.
• Liaising with 3rd party suppliers
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

Education and experience

• The ideal candidate will hold an Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8yrs hands-on experience working with Cisco Networks.
• Outstanding knowledge of Routing & Switching.
• Excellent knowledge of BGP, EIGRP Routing Protocols
• Certified to at least CCNA level but CCNP or CCIE would be preferred.
• Practical knowledge of VoIP deployments.
• Wireless and Security knowledge and experience would be highly desirable.
