Robbers snatch baby, drug mom and sister

Johannesburg - A 13-day-old baby boy, Jaden Ubisi has been snatched in Kempton Park in what police believe to be a kidnapping staged as a house robbery.

Police spokeswoman Sharon Mahamba said the Kempton West father finished work at about 10pm.

When he got home, Julius Ubisi found his wife, Busi Nkosi, and their 15-year-old daughter tied to each other.

Their newborn son Jaden was nowhere to be found.

His wife told him that she was in her bedroom when she saw three men and two women entering.

Without saying a word, they put a white cloth over her mouth and drugged her.

That’s all she remembered.

The daughter was taken from her bed and also drugged.

Disposable nappies were stuffed into their mouths.

Ubisi woke his family but discovered that their baby had disappeared.

His clothes and formula were also gone.

The only other thing missing was the mother’s cellphone.

Police believe that the baby was the target.

The case mirrors a kidnapping in January this year when six-month-old Nigerian baby Revelation Jones was abducted by his parents’ neighbours.

The couple, who have three children of their own, allegedly attacked Revelation’s nanny, leaving her for dead and locking up a six-year-old girl in the house, as they took the baby.

The nanny’s husband said his wife had told him the attack had taken place early in the morning.

The nanny was carrying the baby when the couple attacked her.

“They wrestled as the couple were trying to pull the baby from her, until she fell to the ground, and (the couple) started attacking her.

“They were attacking her with shoes. The man tied a rope around her neck.”
