Peter Obi Distributes 500 School Buses To Secondary Schools ... Send Your Shout Outs!!!
Anambra state governor, Peter Obi has distributed five hundred brand new school buses to secondary schools under the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Scheme across the state.
The distribution which was for private and public secondary schools took place at the at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, where the Special Adviser to the President on MDGs, Precious Gbeneol, commended the government of Anambra state for the unprecedented commitment towards achieving the millennium development goals in all the sectors, while commissioning the buses.
The governor reaffirmed further his resolve to continue doing the needful in the sector as part of the effort towards achieving the millennium development goal in the education sector by ensuring convenient learning and teaching environment in schools at various levels and every other sector as he was commended by the commissioner for education, Uju Okeke for the transformation he has engendered in the education ministry.
An inspection tour of the MDG projects round the state was conducted with the President’s representative Precious Gbeneol, some of which include the health facilities at Our Lady of Lourdes, Ihiala, where about one billion naira had been spent on infrastructure and Iyienu Mission hospitals.
Additional ambulances and cheques for fifty million naira each were handed over to the Bishops in charge of the hospitals.
The tour was rounded off at Ozubulu water project site, where the water scheme which was awarded in 2012 has been completed and serving the people of the community
